Segments

This is a written exam on astronomy & space science. Students from Primary, Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this Olympiad. This Olympiad is divided in three individual segment.
  1. Theoretical
  2. Mathematical
  3. Star-Map analyzing

total marks will be 150 marks for the Olympiad. To be qualified for the prize, a competitor must score at least 80% marks in the Olympiad. Calculator is allowed.
From all category, the best three participants will be awarded. Besides, there are some other special awards. From each category, the one who will get the highest number in the theoretical round will be awarded ‘Dr. A.R. Khan’ Prize, the one who will get the highest number in the mathematical problem-solving round will be awarded ‘Dr Jamal Nazrul Islam’ prize and ‘Mohammed Abdul Jabbar’ prize will be given to the person who will get the highest number of marks in the Star Map Analyzing Round.

This is a written exam on Astronomy. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this Olympiad. From each category, the best three participants will be awarded.

This is a written exam on Archaeoastronomy. Archaeoastronomy is the study of beliefs and practices concerning the sky in the past, and especially in prehistory, and the uses to which people’s knowledge of the skies were put. It uses archaeological and historical methods to investigate past astronomies. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this Olympiad. From each category, the best three participants will be awarded.

There will be two rounds. The first one is a written exam on astronomy & space science. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this quiz. This is a group segment. The best six teams will be selected for the Final (buzzer) round from each category. From each category, the best two teams will be awarded.

This is a written exam on Astro-physics science. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this Olympiad. From each category, the best three participants will be awarded.

This is a written exam on Astro-Chemistry science. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this Olympiad. From each category, the best three participants will be awarded.

This is a written exam on Astro-Biology science. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this Olympiad. From each category, the best three participants will be awarded.

This is a written exam on Aero-space science. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this Olympiad. From each category, the best three participants will be awarded.

This is a written exam on space related history. Students from Primary, Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this Olympiad. From each category, the best three participants will be awarded.

This is a written exam on planetary science. Students from Primary, Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this Olympiad. From each category, the best three participants will be awarded.

This is an individual segment. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this segment. From each category, the best three participants will be rewarded. Each participant will get only three (03) minutes.

Topic of Speech:

  • Junior: Extraterrestrial Life
  • Secondary: Space research in Bangladesh
  • Higher Secondary: Importance of Space Research in Bangladesh
  • Senior: Space Business and its Future

The speech should be given in either Bengali or English. It is better not to mix both languages in the speech. Judges will select the winner depending on the style of speech, presentation, data, relevancy with the topic etc.

This is an individual segment. Students from all categories will participate in this segment. From each category, the best three participants will be rewarded.

Only drawing paper (cartridge paper) will be provided by the organizing committee for painting.  Participants must bring their own painting equipment. They will get only 01 hour and 30 minutes for completing the painting.

  • Junior: Night Sky 
  • Secondary: Exo Planet 
  • Higher Secondary: Space Travel
  • Senior: Intergalactic Civilization 

This is a poster design competition. Students from the Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior categories will participate in this segment. From each category, the best three posters will be rewarded. This is an individual segment.

Topic of Digital Poster: 

  • Secondary: Bangabandhu Satellite 
  • Higher Secondary: James Web Telescope 
  • Senior: Space Travel

This is a wall magazine design competition. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this segment. From each category, the best three wall magazines will be rewarded. Students can participate in this segment as a team or individually.

The standard size for wall magazines is 5’x4 ‘. However, if anyone wants to submit a wall magazine smaller or larger than the standard size can submit. The wall magazines must be submitted to the reporting booth on the first day of the carnival. No wall magazine will be submitted on the second day of the carnival. No specific topic has been set for the wall magazine but the topic must be related to space. Otherwise, the wall magazine will not be accepted.

Full Marks of the wall magazine – 100. Marking will be based on the title, editorial, creativity, use of color, design, presentation, subject, information, data, handwriting, etc.

This is a scrapbook design competition. Students from Junior, Secondary & Higher Secondary will participate in this segment. From each category, the best three scrapbooks will be rewarded. Students can participate in this segment as a team or individually.

The scrapbook must be submitted to the reporting booth on the first day of the carnival. No scrapbooks will be accepted on the second day of the carnival. No specific topic has been set for the scrapbook, but the topics must be related to Space. Otherwise, scrap-book will not be accepted.

Full Marks of the scrap book – 100. Marking will be based on the title, creativity, use of color, design, presentation, subject, information, data, handwriting, etc.

This is a PowerPoint presentation competition. Students from the Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior categories can participate in this segment. From each category, the best three presentations will be rewarded. This is an individual segment.

The topic of PowerPoint Presentation:

  • Secondary: Wi-Fi Network through Satellite  
  • Higher Secondary: Renewable Energy as Space Fuel  
  • Senior: Transforming Mars into Habitable planet 

This is a spacecraft model-making competition. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this segment. From each category, the best three models will be rewarded. Students can participate in this segment as a team or individually.

This is a story writing contest. Students from Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this segment. From each category, the best three stories will be rewarded. This is an individual segment.

Students from the Junior, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior categories will participate in this segment. From each category, the best three ideas will be rewarded. This is an individual segment.

We will provide the topic on spot 10 minutes before the segment. We will provide any space science issues which need proper solutions. Participants have to provide the best solution to solve the problem. 

This is a short film-making contest based on science fiction story. Students from the Higher Secondary & Senior category will participate in this segment. In each category, the best three films will be rewarded.

Submission Criteria:

  • The Short Film must have been completed & submitted on before 20th February, 2023, to be in the Competition.
  • Only the Director or Assistant Director of the Short Film can send the entry to the carnival.
  • Entries MUST be playable on common media players. Carnival Management will not be responsible if film is not screened due to problem with the DVD format. Common formats such as MP4, MOV and AVI files are recommended.
  • The maximum time limit more than 20 minutes There is no minimum running time.
  • The short film can be in Bengali/English language. If the language is English there should subtitle in Bangla & if the language in Bangla there should be subtitle in English.
  • Films once selected and submitted for final screening will not be allowed to be withdrawn under any circumstances until the carnival is over.

Legal Implications:

  • Short Films that are submitted must be the Entrants’ Original Work and shall not infringe on any Copyrights or any other rights of any third parties.
  • By entering the carnival, the entrant agrees that the authority will not be held liable for any copyright infringements perpetrated by you or your short film.
  • Contestants agree that they have obtained all required permissions regarding music, sound and/or images presented in your short film.
  • Youthpreneur Network reserves the right to not screen any film(s) for any reason it deems valid at any given point of time after submission.
  • Entrants will retain all ownership rights to their films submitted.
  • IF THE FILM INCLUDES ANY OBSCENE, PROVOCATIVE, DEFAMATORY, VIOLENCE OR SEXUAL SUBJECT, OBJECTIONABLE, OR INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT THEN THE FILM WILL BE BANNED AND ANY FILM FROM THE PARTICIPANT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE IN THIS EVENT.

Submission Process:

  1. Upload your films in your Google Drive and send the link to- submission.ypnetwork@gmail.com with your Film Title/Language/Duration/Director’s Name/Asst. Director(if)/Synopsis/Mobile Number/E-Mail ID. Films submitted through Google Drive must NOT be deleted from the drive until the carnival is over.
  2. After the submission deadline is over, we will post the selected films according to the film criteria given above.

In the case of group segments, all the members of a group must belong to the same category and the same educational institution. All members of a team can be of different classes. But that class must be included in the mentioned category

A group can have a maximum of 3 members. However, if you want, you can participate with a group of 2 people. A name must be fixed for each team.

In special cases, if a contestant thinks that he/she can compete with other teams by participating in the group segment alone, then he/she can register for the group segment individually.

Astrophotography Contest

Students from the Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior categories will participate in this segment. From each category, the best three photos will be rewarded. This is an individual segment.

Theme: Sky, Star, Moon

Submission Instructions:

  1. One participant can submit maximum 5 photos.
  2. Photo must be 3000 pixels on the longer side (Minimum).
  3. Rename the photos as follows: Your name_ Institution Name _ Category _Caption_Phone No_jpg Example: Dip Chowdhury _North South University_Senior _ Dream_015*******3_jpg
  4. Mention “Your Name_Mobile Number_Category” in subject of the mail and send mail to – “submission.ypnetwork@gmail.com” We will send you a confirmation mail after receiving your mail. If you don’t get any confirmation mail from us, please mention this to our FACEBOOK PAGE.
  5. Both colored and black & white photos are acceptable.
  6. Photos with borders or watermark are not acceptable.
  7. The photo credit will be given only to the participant.
  8. Only jpg/jpeg formats are acceptable.
  9. No manipulation is allowed. This is an individual segment.

Terms and Conditions for Astro-Photography Contest:

  1. The photograph must be the sole work of the participant. By participating, the participant confirms that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity and that no other party has any right, title and claim in the photograph. If YOUTHPRENEUR NETWORK finds out that photo given by the participant belongs to someone else then he/she will be banned from the carnival.
  2. If the photo includes any obscene, provocative, defamatory, violence or sexual subject, objectionable, inappropriate content then the photo will be banned and any photo from the participant will not be acceptable in this carnival.

This is a treasure hunt competition. Students from Secondary, Higher Secondary & Senior will participate in this segment. From each category, the best three teams will be rewarded. Students can participate in this segment as a team or individually.

We will arrange an exhibition where official rovers from different universities will exhibit their rovers. This segment is open for all.

We will conduct a workshop on space science. This segment is open for all. Topic will be announced letter.
